Search platform FILM.NL, for films and series, goes live

New service leads users to the right video content provider, safely and quickly.

Campaign with Rutger Hauer, Barry Atsma, Monic Hendrickx, amongst others

Amsterdam, 31 January – The FILM.NL platform is available to all from today. This free website and app guides users to a legal provider of films and series, safely and quickly. The launch coincides with a major campaign in which Rutger Hauer, Barry Atsma, Monic Hendrickx, Robert de Hoog, Katja Schuurman, Sigrid ten Napel, Maryam Hassouni and Martijn Lakemeijer participate.

The search for the provider of a specific film or series is not always easy. NVPI, the sector association for the entertainment industry, therefore launched FILM.NL. This search engine guides the user to the provider of a specific film or series. The platform is an industry-wide initiative of the large content providers in the Netherlands. FILM.NL purely serves as a guide, and does not include advertisements of any kind. 

The service is launched with a striking campaign by New York-based photographer, Pieter Henket. With the title ‘Kijk niet zo moeilijk’ (English: don’t watch / look with so much difficulty), a call goes out to fans of films and series, but at the same time, the campaign also gives a big wink.  Many famous people collaborate altruistically in the kick-off campaign, because they fully endorse the project.

Digital agency Tam Tam developed the new app and website. Creative Director Max Pinas: ‘We wanted to make it as easy as possible to watch films and series, and we definitely succeeded. The fragmented media landscape was in clear need of a properly functioning guide. FILM.NL achieved this in a way that makes the Dutch viewer community happy. It corresponds with the daily banking- and cinema habits. It just works.’
