At 7:30, I board the Intercity Direct in Amsterdam. This morning I complete the monthly report for operaballet.nl, which shows the client the progress of the website, campaigns and online ticket sales. In the afternoon, I have a meeting with Team Insights. Meanwhile, our club has grown: in just 2 years’ time, we grew from 3 to 13 people. With a slice of pizza in the hand, we look at various talks from Conversion Hotel: a CRO conference that several of us attended.
Today I devote my efforts to schaatsen.nl. Last week, we started a pilot for a social campaign in partnership with our affiliate, a friend of mine. We evaluate the campaign at our office, with the team from schaatsen.nl. In the afternoon, I give management and the sponsor, KPN, a demo at the KNSB in Utrecht. Together with Michaël, the Digital Manager at the KNSB, I present the latest developments for schaatsen.nl, along with the first results of the social campaign. I arrive back at the office just in time for the weekly boot camp. With trainer Silvia and 8 colleagues, I work hard on my six pack at the Olympic Stadium.
On Wednesday I start my day in Amsterdam, so I head to work by bicycle. I dive into Google Analytics to prepare an analysis for timing.nl. I discuss the SEO developments with Timing’s marketer, by telephone. By rewriting the text on the landing pages and adjusting the page structure, the pages will rank higher in Google. In the afternoon, I head to Gazelle’s Experience Center in Amersfoort, where one can try Gazelle’s very latest e-bikes. Very exciting! This afternoon we present 2017’s digital strategy to the marketing team. It is going to be a great year for gazelle.nl: it recently became possible to order bikes online. Our partnership is new, and we end the day in a restaurant so we can get to know each other better.
Good morning! I finally managed to do it again: go for a run in the park before heading to the office. At 9:00, I go over Annelou’s thesis with her. Annelou is an intern with us at Team Insights. She is doing research on conversion optimisation for our client hansanders.nl. It is wonderful to see her use her design background to bring the user experience and conversion optimisation worlds closer together.
This Friday I work on location at Arcadis. Today we accomplish a milestone, because the dashboards with the most important KPIs have been completed, and can be placed on the marketing department’s wall. After lunch, I work on a business case and calculate how many extra leads Arcadis would get if I were to optimise the website. With this information, the team at arcadis.com can make the right decisions for further development. I end the week with the TamTam Christmas Party in Rotterdam. At Club Bar, our big bosses Dimi and Joep reflect on the year in a flamboyant speech. It was incredible!
